Branding proposal for San Joaquin General Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, innovation lab.

My proposal was not selected. However, I really enjoyed the work and wanted to share my process.

The ask:

Branding competition

Kaiser Permanente is building a space to inspire creativity and innovation in healthcare. A meeting room where employees and guests can discuss how advancements in technology might provide a better experience for customers.

The process:

Define some key words, google them and take I find to make a brand.

First I sat down with some doctors and asked them what innovation at Kaiser meant to them. I took notes from my conversations and underlined the most frequently used words to describe innovation at Kaiser:

New Ideas, Care, Community

Next I looked at Kaiser's mission statement: Kaiser Permanente exists to provide high-quality, affordable health care services and to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve.

Alternate Designs

There is no innovation without thought.

Innovation comes from ideas and ideas come from the mind. The Innovation institute should be a place for anyone to explore what is possible by discovering what isn't first.

This logo represents an idea begin formed in the mind. Organically much like how cell multiply these bubbles merge, split, multiply, and pop just like the process of innovation.
